Tierra Grata’s New Campaign: Prevent By Helping

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all, but everyone has threatened us differently. For hundreds of families in informal work, where economic incomes depend on daily search, measures of preventative isolation and social estrangement lowered profits, in many cases, to zero.

In addition to living with the threat of the virus, these families have faced another threat, food shortages. This is why we took different actions from Tierra Grata to address the food emergency of the most vulnerable communities.

Our main job has always been implementing programs to improve communities’ well-being through access to clean energy, clean water, and safe sanitation. Only 10% of the funding is thanks to donations. For this reason, for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency, we have these resources to meet this end while continuing to work to provide essential services to rural communities.

How can you support us?

If you live in Cartagena, we offer you the sale of antibacterial soaps made of natural materials. This product removes viruses and batteries from our hands. Sales are made-to-order and delivered at home with security protocols, and funds will be earmarked for the purchase of markets for vulnerable families.

If you do not live in Cartagena, you can also buy the antibacterial soaps, and these will be delivered along with the markets that we will donate to the families. Or, if you prefer, you can make your donation from this link.

You can also donate from Venmo and credit cards at https://givebutter.com/shareamealColumbia.

These are the results of the aid provided until 5 June 2020:

Development kits including food, sanitation and biosecurity elements and solar lamps to communities without efficient access to electricity. More than 2,200 people have been beneficiaries thanks to the solidarity of more than 150 people.

I want to support the remote community care during the Covid-19 Pandemic:

$35,000 COP

I want to support the overall work of Tierra Grata to reach more communities and provide essential services:

$50,000 COP
